Resurrection of Jesus science experiment- a fun Bible lesson for kids
If you follow me on Instagram you will notice that I love find science projects/science experiments for my kid. Recently my family did a cool science experiment that I thought I’d share with my fellow Christian moms (and dads of course).
Christian parenting isn’t easy!! Sometimes I struggle with making the Bible come alive for my son but this experiment was the perfect way to help explain the story of the resurrection of Jesus!
Personal Tidbit: Fun Bible lessons for kids such as cool science experiments that are Bible-based really helps my son learn some amazing things about God and Jesus.
As a Christian mom, this science experiment is by far my favorite science experiment for kids because it symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus in a way that helps children remember how Christ died and rose again (SO IMPORTANT).
What you will need for this cool science experiment:
- Letter beads (You can buy them on Amazon by clicking here.) If you don’t have any, or want to try something else, you can use buttons.
- Sparkling water
- A plastic cup
- Faith in Jesus
To start, tell the story of Jesus resurrection. Share how the holes in the beads (or buttons) represent the holes that were made in Jesus as he was put on the cross. Now, fill the cup with water and share John 4:14
Explain how a life with Jesus gives you all that you need. Just like water quenches your thirst, Jesus is the only thing you need to satisfy your soul.
Now, drop the beads (or buttons) into the sparkling water and watch how they float up to the surface again. While this is simple science (the carbon dioxide bubbles form on the beads and lift them up) it’s great symbolism to represent the resurrection of Jesus.
Your kids will be amazed as they see their beads (or buttons) rising!
